Phyllostachys nigra

Similar to Phyllostachys nigra 'Henonis', but Phyllostachys nigra 'Megurochiku' has culms ageing to light orange-brown, gradually developing black inter-nodal grooves. Well mannered, with a strong upright habit. Spread up to 2m when mature. Ted Jordan Meredith mentions this  as a rare bamboo only growing on the Japanese island of Awaji. However it has made it's way to collectors and bamboo nurseries and Bowdens are pleased to offer it, albeit in small quantities.

Running bamboo.

Comes in  a 30l pot with 10-20 stems from 2.5-3.0m high.

Care: Full sun or semi-shade. Fully hardy.

Price includes shipping to UK mainland addresses.
