Back a few decades ago, H. 'Halcyon' was being propagated in tissue culture. One of the babies was not a true H. 'Halcyon', so was destined for the compost heap. However, the girl in the lab thought it looked pretty, so asked to take it home instead. She named it after her Mum and the rest, as they say, is history.

Probably the best hosta produced in the last 20 years. Beautiful colour which last best in partial shade but is good anywhere.

My wife and I have a small collection of hosta's and "June" has to be my favourite. It's leaf colour is quite unusual. An eye-catcher!
