Family: Dryopteridaceae Genus: Dryopteris Botanical name: Dryopteris filix-mas 'Furcans' Common name: Forked Male Fern Origin: Great Britain Height: 90cm
A fern with vase shaped habit and elegant fronds with finely divided pinnules.
A very good grower for British gardens, it is worthy of a place in any fern collector’s garden. Striking when it matures and pretty indestructible, which adds to its attraction.
Not readily available, although in small one litres they are good, bushy plants that will provide you with a great start to your fern collecting.
We have reasonably low numbers, so this is unlikely to be available at shows in the height of summer. Buy it now whilst stocks last, or reserve it for your preferred delivery date.
Comes out of a 1 litre pot. Wintergreen. Care: Dry/wet – moist shade or semi-shade, preferably on the dryish side, a typical shady border, often with some trees overhead.
